Individual Psychotherapy and Counselling
A safe, confidential space to explore what you’re experiencing and work towards meaningful change.
Counselling and psychotherapy provide an opportunity to step back, understand what is happening in your life and explore what you hope might be different.
Within a good working relationship, I integrate different therapeutic approaches to offer support that fits you, your circumstances and what you hope to achieve from therapy. Together, we can explore your experiences, identify your strengths and consider ways of moving forward that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
Couples Counselling
A safe and supportive space to explore difficulties and find new ways of relating.
Couples counselling provides time away from the pressures of everyday life to explore difficulties in a safe and confidential environment.
Therapy can help you understand patterns within your relationship, build on existing strengths and explore difficulties that may be keeping you stuck. It provides an opportunity for constructive communication with a supportive facilitator.
Sometimes couples seek counselling when difficulties have become deeply entrenched. Working together can provide space to understand what is happening, address conflict and consider how the relationship might develop and move forward.
Supervision of Individuals and Groups
Reflective, supportive supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, faith leaders and other professionals working in relational roles.
Supervision provides a confidential space to step back from your work, reflect on your practice and consider the impact of your work on yourself and those you support. It can help you develop your professional confidence, deepen your self-awareness and maintain good practice within a supportive and challenging relationship.
I offer individual and group supervision across a range of professional settings. My approach is informed by the Hawkins and Shohet model of supervision and shaped by my experience as a counsellor, supervisor, trainer and lecturer in Higher Education.
My experience includes supervising counsellors, psychotherapists, faith leaders and professionals working in other relationally complex roles. Having also held leadership responsibilities within a church setting, I understand some of the particular opportunities and challenges that can come with supporting people within a faith community. I bring this alongside my wider experience in NHS primary care, community and voluntary sector services, private practice and education.
I am committed to ethical practice, ongoing professional development and reflective learning. I aim to provide supervision that is both supportive and appropriately challenging, helping you think more deeply about your work, explore complex situations, recognise your strengths and consider new perspectives. Supervision is not simply about checking that you are doing things correctly. It is an opportunity to develop as a reflective and confident practitioner, with space to consider the professional, ethical and relational dimensions of your work.
Online Counselling & Psychotherapy
Professional, confidential therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Online counselling and psychotherapy can offer the same opportunity to feel heard, understood and supported, without the need to travel to an appointment. It can be particularly helpful if you have a busy schedule, find travelling difficult, live further away or simply prefer the comfort and convenience of having therapy from home.
Our sessions take place by secure video call at a pre-arranged appointment time. I provide a quiet and private environment for our sessions, and I ask that you also find a space where you can speak openly and have sufficient privacy.
Before each appointment, I will send you a link to join the session. We can take a little time at the beginning to make sure you are comfortable with the technology so that we can focus on what matters to you.
Online therapy can offer flexibility while still providing the connection and therapeutic relationship that are at the heart of our work.
Whether we meet in person or online, the relationship between us remains at the heart of the work.
Employment Assistance Programmes: E.A.P.
Employment Assistance Programmes have been well established worldwide to assist employees with work problems and personal issues. I work with a number of large EAP providers. Employees and report that such programmes help improve productivity, reduce sickness and absence, and provide an invaluable support.
